During the recent break, like many people, I was clearing out all those old files from my computer. You know, the half completed documents where you have forgotten what they were supposed to be for in the first place.
Well, I came across one such suspect document. However, on opening it, I found a collection of ideas I had jotted down over the past few years; these were mainly from motivational speakers, service desk events (as that used to be my thing), and also from network meetings.
They were the sort of ideas that sounded a good idea at the time. Of course, some were as bonkers and random as you might expect. Yet, there were some snippets of good stuff in there, so I thought I’d share a few on here, now and again.
First up, a classic four point plan for reviewing any enterprise, be it individual or a whole business, in terms of performance.
I really like this simple list of questions, as it strips away all the techno - in vogue - sigma type stuff (which I’m sure has its place). Instead, the questions ultimately get down to simple concepts that everyone can relate to. Even if you identify just one thing for each category, that’s got to be a good thing. Quick wins ahead in the years to come if you use these ideas well!
